Industrial Electrician

Performs electrical installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic industrial equipment/controls, emergency stand-by systems on all County bascule bridges, sand transfer plants, and electrical flood gates. Analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs highly complex electronic and electrical equipment; works on 3-phase 480-volt electrical systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of four (4) years of journey-level experience in the maintenance, repair, and installation of electronic and heavy electrical equipment and industrial electrical and electronic control systems.

Necessary Special Requirement: Must obtain a Palm Beach County (PBC) or Florida (FL) Electrician's License within 11 months of hire.

PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE WITH: Electrical, electronic, and hydraulic industrial control/lightning protection/movable bridge electrical systems; electrical construction/programmable controllers; scuba diving.

SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG TESTING. Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Must obtain a FL Class B CDL Permit with Air Brakes Endorsement within 90 days of hire and obtain a FL Class B CDL with Air Brakes Endorsement within 180 days of hire. Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate.
