Pay: $20-$28/hour + per diem & travel

Position Overview

The Traveling Facilities Maintenance & Plumber will conduct comprehensive site surveys and perform installations, maintenance, and repairs of gas and water meters across multiple Army Reserve Joint Base facilities. This role ensures accurate and efficient utility metering, compliance with all regulatory requirements, and continuous operation of mechanical systems to support mission readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Surveys & Inspections

• Conduct detailed assessments of plumbing, gas, and water systems at assigned Reserve bases.

• Evaluate utility infrastructure condition, identify code violations, anticipate maintenance needs, and prepare surveys and reports.

Meter Installations & Upgrades

Install, commission, and maintain gas and water meters in compliance with manufacturer specifications and military-base standards. Coordinate with base operations to integrate metering systems into existing utility networks. Routine & Preventive Maintenance

Provide preventive and corrective maintenance for plumbing fixtures, piping, and meters. Inspect joints, valves, and pressure systems using gauges and leak detection equipment. Blueprint Interpretation & Layout

Read technical drawings, blueprints, and installation diagrams to plan meter and system placement. Ensure proper routing, slope, and fall for accurate water/gas flow and reliable meter operation. Record-Keeping & Reporting

Maintain accurate documentation of site surveys, installation logs, service reports, and parts usage. Submit daily/weekly reports detailing work completed, findings, and any identified operational concerns. Safety & Compliance

Adhere to plumbing and building codes, environmental and safety regulations, and Department of Defense standards. Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow base-specific safety protocols.
