The City of Topeka is seeking a licensed Electrician to join its Facilities team. This position performs skilled tasks in the planning, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, wiring, machinery, equipment, and other electrical devices in the Citys facilities and buildings. The incumbent may lead other employees assisting in electrical work by providing training and serving as a knowledge base expert.
What youll do:
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Document completed inspections, work activities, and materials used
- Respond to emergency calls
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Kansas state-issued Electricians License is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a journeyman electrician is required, preferably in a municipal or commercial setting and/or installation, maintenance, repair and other electrical procedures.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas drivers license and city insurable driving record. Please review the Insurability Guidelines.
Entry rate of pay: $26.70 - $27.93 per hour, depending on qualifications
