Welder Helpers assist the Welders with various tasks ranging from preparing materials, cleaning work areas, and maintaining equipment. They assist with transporting materials, holding and positioning workpieces, and cleaning surfaces for welding. Occasionally, they may perform basic welding tasks under supervision.

Tasks

Material Preparation: Preparing materials for welding by cutting, shaping, or grinding metal pieces.

Equipment Maintenance: Keeping welding tools and supplies clean, organized, and stocked.

Work Area Preparation: Setting up equipment, tools, and materials for daily work assignments, and cleaning up the work area after completion.

Assisting with Welding: Holding or clamping workplaces during welding, assisting with pipe fitting, and using hand torches.

Safety Practices: Promoting and adhering to safety protocols.

General Assistance: Assisting with the transportation of welding equipment and materials.

Performs other tasks or projects as described or assigned by Shop Manager or Welder.
