**Job: Lead Mechanic**
**Hours: Full-Time, Days- 7:00am-3:30pm- Mon-Fri**
**Location: Suburban Outpatient Pavilion- 2100 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, 17601**
Summary:
+ Position Summary:
+ To provide work direction to others for service calls and preventive maintenance assignments and other activities while personally performing like functions requiring direct application of trade skills and knowledge. Performs all types of maintenance and repair work and related tasks necessary to maintain, operate and or construct buildings, grounds, property, utilities and equipment. Leads other technicians through work distribution, job scheduling, coordination with other crafts and through monitoring evaluation of performance. This position provides Team leadership to HVAC; General; Boiler Shops as assigned. Communicates with peers, staff, contractors and all customers on job or project issues and details.
+ Qualified individuals must have the ability with or without reasonable accommodation to perform the following duties:
+ Coordinates all major activities not completed by house call mechanic with other lead technicians and notifies department on progress.
+ Troubleshoots and repairs med air and med vac systems and mechanical systems.
+ Maintains and prepares schedules and makes daily work assignments to accommodate all requirements.
+ Performs preventive maintenance duties such as lubricating equipment and repairing component parts or the adjustment and regulating of equipment such as replacing gaskets, repairing machines, etc.
+ Repairs and makes adjustments on beds, litters, stretchers, etc.
+ Repairs various call signal systems, telephone, intercom, paging systems, etc. as received through daily work orders.
+ Actively communicates, both verbally and in writing, with subordinates, peers, staff and customers to expedite workflow, facilitate scheduling, resolves problems and to enhance productivity.
+ Monitors job performance of subordinates, administers the PMP and provides technical support and encouragement for trade development and advancement skills.
+ Orders required repair and installation materials for maintenance and project purposes. Manages shop budget within predetermined parameters.
+ Records and maintains applicable documentation for DOH and JCAHO and other regulatory agencies.
+ Utilizes computerized maintenance management system to monitor workload, assigned tasks and priority requests.
+ The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:
+ Performs general metal working and cutting tasks.
+ Repairs and installs piping, conduit and duct work.
+ Fabricates or repairs metal and items as may be required to maintain patient area equipment.
+ Services and repairs pumps, motors and valves.
+ Participates in the on-call responsibilities for this position as required.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
+ Graduate of Trade school and/or apprenticeship
+ Five (5) years of mechanical vocational training or equivalent on the job training
+ Five (5) years of electrical vocational training or equivalent on the job training
+ Two (2) years tradesman supervision/leadership or equivalent on the job training
