Convergentz, a division of the Hunton Group in Houston, TX, has a new and exciting opportunity for you to join our growing team as a Fire Sprinkler Operations Manager. In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting all phases of our fire sprinkler systems installation and servicing projects. This role combines strategic leadership with active field engagement. The ideal candidate will split their time between the office administrative responsibilities and field operations, including job site visits, service calls, and direct project oversight. This position requires 50%+ travel to various job sites, including outside the greater Houston area. The candidate will be directly involved in field operations, collaborating with service staff, technicians, and clients to ensure successful execution and commissioning of systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively lead and manage a team of 8 - 10 direct reports.
  • Support all field operations, including performing service calls and conducting job site visits.
  • Responsible for all fire sprinkler installation and service operations.
  • Maintain a regular presence on job sites (on average 3 days per week), providing hands-on leadership, troubleshooting, and operational support.
  • Project manage fire sprinkler installations, including job scheduling, materials procurement, and coordination with internal and external teams.
  • Guide technicians through service issues and installation standards.
  • Develop employee skills and licensing pathways to support individual development and compliance.
  • Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with team members to support professional growth and engagement.
  • Collaborate with field teams to ensure quality control, safety compliance, and performance efficiency.
  • Oversee vehicle and fire sprinkler tool inventory, maintenance, and distribution.
  • Collaborate with design teams to resolve installation challenges and provide feedback to improve future system designs.
  • Represent the company in meetings with General Contractors to support project coordination and execution.
  • Participate in fire marshal acceptance tests to ensure compliance and successful project closeout.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall team and project success.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a fire sprinkler service technician.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a pipefitter in the fire protection industry.
  • 3-5 years of project management experience, preferably in construction or fire protection.
  • RME-G License a plus
  • NICET certification (any level) is a plus.
  • Prior experience in management or team lead role is highly desirable.
  • Leadership training or OSHA 40 certification is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
