Job Summary

We are looking for a professional who will be part of a highly skilled team of project managers and engineers, and who strongly contributes to the overall successful management of multidiscipline teams. This individual will manage the project within the framework of the budget, time schedule, quality, and scope, contributing to the overall sales result and customer satisfaction. This professional will coordinate and coach the project team to improve team performance by building team, training, and motivating to facilitate cooperation, ensure project efficiency and boost morale.

This is a customer facing position. In most cases, you will be the one to kick off the project with the customer via virtual meeting or in-person. You will then continue to develop the customer relationship from a project execution and implementation perspective.

This position is located in Vernon Hills, IL (north suburb of Chicago).

Travel is project-dependent with an approximate requirement of 25% of the time.

What you will do

As a Project Manager you will:

  • Have overall responsibility for project execution and provide project leadership to deliver project results.
  • Secure project deliverables according to project agreement (contract) and act according to responsibilities in the project charter.
  • Breakdown and plan the project into phases and fulfil the plan and project milestones in time and in full according to budget.
  • Drive productivity in the project through utilization of global reusable solutions, processes, and tools (project governance, risk management, etc.).
  • Manage scope changes and issue variation orders.
  • Secure project communication and documentation according to the project communication plan.
  • Provide lessons learned and input to improvement or development of processes and tools.
  • Conduct and manage quotation development in conjunction with account managers for systems/modules.
  • Provide sales support by giving technical and/or commercial presentations.
  • Conduct and manage project implementation of sold systems/modules. Provide issue management related to projects.
  • Manage project teams and provide feedback to Senior Management on team member performance. Participate in and present at project review board meetings.
  • Continue your education in the area of Project Management with the expectation to obtain or maintain PMP certification.
  • Execute according to Tetra Pak strategy and values.

We believe you have

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering highly preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10+ years of experience with engineering and managing projects.
  • Experience with food processing and/or packaging equipment.
  • Previous experience in a customer-interfacing position highly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills required (proficiency with Microsoft Office; Microsoft Project; SAP; Basic AutoCAD Skills).
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and communication skills.
  • Negotiation skills and capability to maneuver through political and cultural situations effectively.
  • Industry Related Regulatory Knowledge (PMO, 3A, OSHA, CFR-113, etc.).
  • Experience with budgeting, fiscal management, and project planning.
  • Very good command of the written and spoken English language.
  • Ideally knowledge of dairy, beverage, cheese, and powder processing.
  • PMP certification is preferred.

Pay Equity

Tetra Pak provides the following compensation range that in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the positionacross all US locations. Ranges are determined by role, level and location. Within the range, individual pay is defined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education ortraining.

This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule. The estimate displayed is just one component of Tetra Pak's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include annual performance bonus, competitive benefits,and work-related allowances.

  • Annual Base Salary Range (ABS): $100,100.00 - $142,800.00 USD
  • Short-term Incentive/Bonus (Variable Pay): Eligible to performance incentive of 10% of ABS
