What You Will Do:

  • As a professional bridge engineer you will play an important role in bridge design and load rating or other structural design for a wide variety of clients including cities, counties, states, and private entities.
  • You will use fundamental engineering principles to provide our clients with efficient designs focused on quality.
  • projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and budgets.
  • While bridge projects are expected to make up the majority of your work, you will also be required to provide structural design, analysis, and project management for retaining walls hydraulic structures, and other structures.
  • Your experience level will determine the amount of independent judgment granted, the complexity of tasks performed, and direct supervision received.
  • You will train EITs.

What You Will Bring:

  • The successful candidate must have an MS/ME degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited engineering school and 1-5 years' work experience - bridge and related structural design post PE.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or ability to get licensed by comity is required.
  • Candidate should be familiar with TxDOT bridge design documents and procedures, LRFD design procedures, bridge design software, structural analysis software such as PGSuper, BGS, RC-PIER, MDX, STAAD, MIDAS, Bently Open Road/Open Bridge products, and have proven experience to prepare bridge plan sets and develop structural details.
  • Steel bridge design and post-tensioned bent caps/column design experiences are preferred but not required.
  • Excellent engineering judgement , excellent technical, communication, organizational skills and detail-oriented.
