Job Description

InteRebar Fabricators is seeking a Crane Operator in its rebar fabrication facility. The Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of heavy materialsincluding rebar bundles, fabricated cages, and related steel products using overhead cranes. This role is critical for maintaining seamless workflow, supporting machine operators, and ensuring workplace safety throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities

Material Handling

Operate overhead cranes to lift, transport, and position bundles of straight and fabricated rebar within the facility.

Load and unload trucks with incoming raw materials and outgoing finished products.

Assist with staging material at shearing, bending, assembly, and loading areas according to production schedules.

Safety Compliance

Strictly follow all site safety policies, including pre-operation inspections and use of required PPE (personal protective equipment).

Ensure loads are secure, balanced, and within crane capacity limits before lifting.

Communicate hazards and unsafe conditions to supervisors and stop operations if safety is compromised.

Equipment Inspection

Perform daily crane inspections and report mechanical issues or safety concerns.

Teamwork & Communication

Coordinate movement of materials with machine operators, loaders, fabrication supervisors, and shipping staff.

Use hand signals, radios, or other communication devices to ensure clear workflow and avoid accidents.

Documentation

Accurately record crane usage, maintenance checks, and material movements as required by facility protocols.

Track inventory locations and assist in maintaining stock accuracy by ensuring items are stored in designated areas.
