APR Consulting, Inc. has been engaged to identify a Building Engineer for a temporary crisis staffing opportunity.
Title: Building Engineer
Location: Los Angeles, CA or Riverside, CA or Anaheim, CA or Irvine, CA or San Diego, CA (Travel and Lodging Accommodations are provided)
Pay Rate: $88/hr plus possible $200 bonus
Shift: 12 hours shifts 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am
Duration: Typically approximately a 1 week assignment starting as soon as October 1, 2025 (Must be flexible on duration and start date)
JOB SUMMARY
Facilities Operations / Engineering
Manage and maintain complex facility systems that support the delivery of world-class healthcare. This role ensures optimal performance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems while maintaining compliance and driving energy efficiency.
Operate, inspect, and maintain HVAC, boiler, chiller, and other critical systems.
Oversee contractors and lead in-house teams performing maintenance and repairs.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure all systems meet compliance standards (e.g., NFPA, OSHA).
Lead emergency response protocols related to equipment or utility failures.
Collaborate with project managers on facility upgrades and renovation.
Document operational logs, asset inventories, and maintenance history in CMMS.
Support sustainability initiatives and energy conservation program.
Provide technical expertise during facility accreditation and inspections.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering preferred.
5+ years of experience in plant operations or hospital facility engineering.
Strong knowledge of codes and standards applicable to healthcare facilities.
Proficiency in Building Automation Systems and computerized maintenance platforms.
Excellent troubleshooting and communication abilities
Relevant certifications (e.g., PE license, LEED, Certified Healthcare Facility Manager) highly desirable.
Work Setting
High-compliance healthcare facility environment
Fast-paced with potential for after-hours and on-call duty
Physical requirements include lifting, climbing ladders, and working around industrial equipment
