Your Impact in This Role
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic to support our facility operations. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for maintaining equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring the smooth operation of our production systems. Your expertise will help minimize downtime, improve efficiency, and support a safe working environment.
As a Maintenance Mechanic, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Inventory & Parts Management: Maintain spare parts inventory, determine stocking levels, and order parts from vendors and catalogues.
Mechanical Maintenance: Change bearings, belts, and pulleys on conveyors; perform general PM and repairs on bucket elevators, screw conveyors, forklifts, loaders, and sweepers.
Pneumatic & Electrical Systems: Clean and replace pneumatic valves; perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
Equipment Installation & Operation: Install facility machinery, operate and maintain Non-Ferrous Metal Detectors, and assist with rigging motors and conveyor components.
Software & System Support: Create backups for sorting computer software/parameters and troubleshoot Windows-based sorting platforms.
Fabrication & Welding: Weld and fabricate components; patch holes in steel chutes and transitions.
Communication & Coordination: Communicate equipment issues across shifts and maintain accurate maintenance logs and PM records.
Training & Teamwork: Provide on-the-job training to new employees and serve as a backup for other maintenance technicians.
Problem Solving: Lead and contribute to project work, demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills, and support continuous improvement efforts.
What You Bring to the Table
High School Diploma or GED preferred
1-3 years of maintenance experience preferred
Strong time management and prioritization skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings/schematics preferred
Glass processing knowledge is a plus
Required Skills and Abilities:
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Motor coordination and finger dexterity for tasks such as keyboarding and machine operation
Team player with leadership potential and a collaborative mindset
Required Physical Abilities:
Mobility: Bending, Standing, Walking, Sitting, Climbing
Articulation: Lifting /carrying, reaching, grasping, repetitive movements
Working Conditions:
Exposure to dusty and noisy conditions periodically
Mixture of light, moderate, and heavy physical activity
Work performed in both office and manufacturing environments
