Job Description
Our Client, a Public Utilities company, is looking for a Mid Project Manager for their Oakbrook Terrace, IL/ Hybrid location.
Responsibilities:
Developing project plans, including scope, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
Leading project teams and coordinating activities to ensure that project goals are met.
Monitoring project progress and identifying and addressing issues or risks.
Communicating with stakeholders and senior management to provide updates on project status.
Managing project budgets and ensuring that projects are delivered within budget.
Ensuring that projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
Developing and maintaining relationships with project stakeholders and external partners.
Leading project meetings and facilitating discussions to drive project progress.
Managing project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and reports.
Supporting the development and implementation of project management best practices and processes.
Project Managers Mid should have strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
They should also be proficient in project management software and tools. PMP Required for all Project Management roles
Transmission interconnection project manager team.
16 folks on the team, split up functionally underneath 2 managers. 1 manager runs the study phase from customer requests in PGM. Works for a study process. Around 20 active projects right now. 30+ new projects coming into the department. Transmission level projects
Manager transmission level projects. Cover transmission line build outs. Substation line buildouts.
Customer element because it is interconnection project. Hybrid team. Pms with experience on the transmission level. Rebuild, substation modifications or experience working through the interconnection process at transmission level.
Requirements:
Strong Project Manager experience leading Transmission level electrical utility projects (138kV+), with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
Proven ability to balance the needs of both internal and external stakeholders
Experience with the PJM interconnection process
Strong project financial acumen including, at minimum, forecasting, accruals, payment reconciliation, CPI and SPI
Degree in engineering and/or project management
Proven experience managing projects on the transmission system. Would love previous client experience
Understands the outage planning process for the transmission level. Understand the design stage. Prefer utilities space experience.
Experience managing construction projects. Gone through the design process and bidding process.
PMP preferred
3-5 years of experience
Bachelor's degree is required
