JOB SUMMARY
The Division Director of Park & Facility Services oversees one of four major division of the organization, including all parks, playgrounds, sports fields, outdoor courts, Park Center Maintenance, The Grove Maintenance, as well as centralized responsibility for district-wide facility maintenance, repair, renovation and construction issues. This position collaborates to develop strategies for addressing district-wide issues or areas of concern involving other government agencies, community organizations, special interest groups, employees at large and the general public. It also collaborates on overall strategic planning for the district, including land facility acquisition, development and usage. Responsible for building and sustaining strong community and intergovernmental relationships and accountable for revenue and expenses of designated areas. Oversees an annual operating budget of approximately $10-$15 million. Direct supervisory responsibility for four (4) employees and indirect supervisory responsibility for up to 36 full-time staff and dozens of seasonal and part-time employees.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in Park Management, Landscape Architecture, Forestry, City Planning, Parks, Recreation, Tourism or Environmental Studies or related field required. Master's Degree is a plus. Will consider significant and material experience in lieu of formal education. A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant, progressive experience required, with at least three (3) years of experience in a Manager or Director role. Prior supervisory experience required. Preference given for experience in recreation or a public agency. Professional certification(s) and/or active membership in a professional association desirable; certified Arborist, CPSI and other relevant certifications a plus. Valid Illinois drivers license required.

SCHEDULING & PAY
This is a full-time, year-round salaried position. Must be available for required overtime, special events and weather-related duties, including some nights and weekends as required. The starting salary for this position is $131,031, depending on qualifications and experience.
