We are currently seeking a Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our growing teams in Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, or Richmond, VA. As part of VHBs dynamic Water Resources group, youll work alongside a diverse team of engineers and planners on impactful projects for our transportation, energy, and private sector clients throughout Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Work within a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of environmental, land development, transportation, and water resources projects
  • Conduct a wide array of water resources related studies and analysis including: Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of stormwater systems, analysis and design of conveyance systems, design of stormwater management facilities, coastal impacts, and floodplain analysis
  • Conduct data collection and field work
  • Prepare stormwater analyses, designs, and permit applications
  • Support projects related to stormwater permitting compliance for municipal, industrial and transportation clients

Skills and Attributes

  • Experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD), ArcGIS, and AutoCAD preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to think critically
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excel in working in a team environment

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil/Environmental engineering
  • Minimum 0-1+ years of professional water resources engineering experience
  • Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis, water quality analysis, stormwater management design, pollutant loading, Low Impact Development/green infrastructure design, floodplain and watershed management, storm sewer design, grading and site design preferred
  • EIT preferred, on PE track
