Job Summary/Objective:
This entry-level role in telecommunications focuses on learning the fundamentals of tower construction under direct supervision. Responsibilities include assembling and erecting towers, installing antennas and associated hardware, grounding, testing equipment, and performing basic optimizations of antennas and lines.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with team members and site supervisors to support tower construction and maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion of project milestones.
• Follow OSHA and company-specific EHS guidelines while performing tasks, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Perform hands-on installation tasks, including wiring, mounting, and connecting telecommunications equipment, while gaining practical knowledge of industry-standard techniques.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance. Collaborate with experienced technicians to identify and resolve issues on site, learning diagnostic methods and repair techniques in the process.
• Participate in equipment testing, including sweep testing, Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing, and fiber testing, to validate performance and functionality.
• Actively participate in development and training opportunities to build a solid understanding of telecom systems, industry tools, and equipment.
• Learn to read and interpret basic construction drawings, RF data sheets, and other documentation to ensure proper installation and system alignment.
Minimum Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma
• Up to 1 year of experience
Preferred and Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
• Have knowledge of and ability to meet and pass all DOT requirements
• Proficient in reading and understanding construction drawing and support documentation, RF data sheets, and basic electrical concepts with the ablity to communicate both verbally and electronically.
• Current Commtrain certification is desired. TTT1 or TTT2 certifications a plus.
• Current First Aid AED/CPR certification is required to have or obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Current RF awareness Certification required to have or obtain within 90 days of employment.
• OSHA 30 hour certification is required to have or obtain within 90 days of employment.
Skills Required:
• Ability to take and understand written and verbal direction.
• Communication skills to effectively articulate and document progress and issues.
• Understanding and ability to process RFDS and read construction drawings.

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel Required:
• Ability to work in all weather conditions except for unsafe or extreme weather conditions.
• Ability to travel and work in remote locations outside of the metropolitan area.
• Desire and ability to climb structures to heights in excess of 300’ while carrying loads in excess of 50 pounds.
• Travel is required 50% of the time
