Project Manager
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects with a focus on financial precision, resource management, permitting, scheduling, and team leadership. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in implementing and monitoring job costing, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure seamless project handoffs while maintaining project profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor, and update job costing in real time with precision.
  • Provide weekly Gross Profit (GP) reports for every active job.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Finance to maintain and optimize GP across all signed and active projects.
  • Ensure clean project handoff from Pre-Construction, conduct thorough review, and complete buyout without compromising GP.
  • Earn performance bonuses for GP gains on completed projects.
  • Manage the allocation of Site Superintendents and Project Manager hours for all active jobs.
  • Identify and resolve potential subcontractor labor conflicts to avoid delays and inefficiencies.
  • Track all open permits and address permit comments promptly.
  • Maintain and update schedules for all active jobs.
  • Keep the master job board current and accurate.
  • Serve as a leader and role model for the entire Operations Team.
  • Promote a positive and respectful working relationship between departments; bickering or conflict will not be tolerated.
  • Train, mentor, and inspire junior Project Managers and Site Superintendents.
  • Demonstrate behavior and performance that align with the companys core values and growth goals.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in commercial construction and commercial project management.
  • Knowledge of construction management and commercial interiors.
  • Proficiency in project management within commercial interior construction projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Degree in Construction Management.
  • Must have 5 years of experience in a Project Manager position.
  • Experience with any type of commercial construction or high-end residential is highly preferred.
  • Past examples include work on data centers, cabinet installations, and glass installations.
  • Ability to work 60% in office and 40% in the field, focusing on local Chicago projects.
Work Environment

The position is located in Lombard, with office hours from 7 AM to 4 PM. You will work in a newly renovated office with parking and a small kitchenette, featuring open seating that showcases our designs. A work vehicle will be provided, and the majority of projects are local to the Chicagoland area, with some jobs extending to northwest Indiana, Rockford/DeKalb, and Milwaukee. The company strives to assign projects based on team members' locations, with most jobs lasting 2-3 months. The company, established in the 1980s, is family-owned and prides itself on a collaborative and growth-oriented culture, focusing on renovations for corporate offices, labs, and industrial spaces.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $52.88/hr.
