Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support utility construction projects, initially located in the Moorpark area with potential to extend to other Southern California project sites. This role involves assisting the Vice President in managing subcontractors and clients for distribution build-outs, and participating in RFP/RFIs, scheduling, estimating, and other project support functions.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Vice President in managing subcontractors and clients for distribution build-outs.
- Participate in project support functions such as RFP/RFIs, scheduling, and estimating.
- Communicate effectively with the General team on project updates, including sending work to the field.
- Log information accurately in the database and conduct customer meetings.
- Interface with the team 90% of the time as the Vice President is located in New York.
- Answer emails and questions from the Vice President, ensuring clarity and precision.
- Handle line by lines, work releases, onboarding, PEP training, pre-award work releases, and Day of Compliance Report.
Essential Skills
- 2-5/6 years of experience, preferably in Southern California or SCE.
- Experience with PG&E, SDG&E, or other utilities like LADWP is acceptable.
- Proficiency in project coordination and client interaction.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in construction and utility projects, including scheduling and estimating.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in roles such as Project Coordinator, Project Manager, Permitting, or Environmental.
Work Environment
The work environment includes a construction project site with a trailer. The role requires in-office presence five days a week, starting in the Moorpark area, likely for the next 1.5 years. Preferred working hours are from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with flexibility to adjust from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. High expectations of overtime are anticipated.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $54.00/hr.
