JOB SUMMARY
The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading electrical systems, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in industrial electrical systems, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Comply with Eco Material Technologies Safety Policies
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components, including motors, pumps, conveyor systems, and control panels.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment to ensure uninterrupted operations systems.
- Install and upgrade electrical systems and components as required by operational needs or project plans.
- Collaborate with engineers and other contractors to design and implement efficient electrical solutions handling systems.
- Work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automated systems for controlling site processes.
- Maintain and calibrate electrical instrumentation for accurate operation.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal electrical codes and industry standards.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, arc flash prevention, and other plant-specific safety measures.
- Identify and mitigate potential electrical hazards in the work environment.
- Maintain detailed records of electrical work performed, including maintenance logs and incident reports.
- Prepare and update electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Work closely with plant operators, maintenance personnel, and contractors to support continuous operations.
- Provide training and guidance to junior electricians or apprentices when required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of NEC and other applicable electrical codes.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in industrial environments.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and industrial automation is advantageous.
- Knowledge of MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) regulations and experience in conducting or participating in MSHA inspections is highly preferred.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an industrial electrician, with experience in utility plants or similar environments.
- Experience with high-voltage systems, motor control centers, and fly ash handling equipment is a plus.
- Valid state electrician's license.
- Additional certifications in industrial electrical systems or safety training (e.g., OSHA 30, NFPA 70E) are preferred.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:
- Working near moving mechanical parts
- Loud noise
- Exposure to airborne particles within a manufacturing operation
- Lifting heavy materials, up to 50 pounds
- Climb and work occasionally at heights
- General manufacturing environment
- May require overtime work as necessary
- Must be flexible to work any shift and/or weekends as scheduled
- Ability to stoop, bend, walk, stand, sit, reach and climb
- Will be expected to conduct all assigned tasks scheduled by supervisor
- Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
- Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)
