Heavy Equipment Operators- Heavy Civil/Highway

Equipment Operator will be responsible to operate multiple types of heavy equipment that could include bobcat, forklift, loader, trackhoe, backhoe dozer and other equipment (e.g. hydraulic shovel attachment, concave blade attachment) necessary on the job site to assist with moving of materials, digging holes and trenches, transports earth and gravel, and to push trees and rocks. Equipment Operators will also be expect to perform physically laborer work when necessary. Many of these jobs are not full time, the size of the project and organization of the work determining whether a worker spends all his time on one job or is transferred from task to task as the project progresses to completion. Some workers habitually work in one branch of the industry, whereas others transferred from task to task as the project progresses to completion or according to the availability of work or on a seasonal basis. Workers may be designated according to specific work performed.

Key Highlights:

  • Skilled in using GPS and manual controls to achieve precise grading and excavation
  • Handle attachments, hydraulics, and perform trenching, loading, and material movement efficiently
  • Operate equipment for roadways, building pads, ponds, and demolition projects
  • Maintain equipment care, perform light maintenance, and ensure safe, damage-free operation
  • Work in fast-paced, high-production environments with minimal supervision
  • Support pipe crew operations and follow strict safety standards

  • Have a minimum of 3-7 years of Heavy Equipment Operating Experience with multiple types of equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willing to do laborer work
  • Ability to work as a Team Member and work in a professional manner and a positive attitude
  • Motivated self-starter and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work safely under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment.
  • Frequent gross body movements such as bending, climbing into equipment, lifting (up to 75lbs), twisting, standing, balancing, stooping, handling materials, moving around hazardous sites.
  • Good Eye to Hand coordination a must. Depth perception required.
  • High School diploma/GED preferred.
  • Flexible availability to include overtime and possible weekends.
  • Valid Driver's license
