General Summary:
Astronics Test Systems is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with focus on analog and power supply circuits to join our team. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic radio test engineering environment, contributing to the design, development, and testing of advanced analog electrical systems. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in analog circuit design, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
Design analog circuits and power supply systems, including AC-DC, DC-DC converters, linear regulators, and power management circuits.
Develop schematics, perform circuit simulations, and create PCB layouts using industry-standard tools (e.g., Altium).
Testing and Validation:
Create and implement test plans for analog systems and components, ensuring compliance with performance and reliability standards.
Utilize laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers for testing and debugging.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to power supply performance, EMI/EMC, thermal management, and reliability.
Documentation:
Develop detailed design documentation, test instructions, and procedures.
Ensure all designs meet relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration:
Work closely with software, hardware, and mechanical engineers to integrate analog systems into overall product designs.
Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with the latest advancements in analog technology and incorporate relevant innovations into design practices.
Participate in design reviews, providing technical expertise and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in analog and powers supply circuit design and development.
- Experience with electronic design automation tools such as Altium Designer or equivalent.
- Proficiency in simulation tools such as LTSpice or equivalent.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be a US person.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with MATLAB and Simulink tools.
- Familiarity with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Environmental requirements.
- Experience with RF testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
