For California based roles the expected hourly salary is $20/hour - $50/hour

About the role

We are offering a 3-month internship opportunity in Geotechnical Engineering in Rio Tinto Boron, California Operations (riotinto.com).

This opportunity will allow you to perform engineering duties connected to rock mechanics, geotechnical monitoring systems such as radars, total stations and seismographs or or working with our hydrogeology systems.

What you'll bring

  • At least one year completed in a geotechnical engineering, hydrogeology coursework preferred or other related field. Slope stability software such as Rocfall, Slide or SlopeW would be considered an asset.
  • Leadership skills, eagerness to learn and ready for the challenge ahead
  • Flexibility and autonomy
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Valid driving licence
  • To be eligible, you must return to school the semester following the internship period and have the right to work full-time in the United States.
