WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-time Construction Inspector for our Orlando Airport Field Office. Be involved in projects with our OAR Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

Job Duties:

  • Attend required training and certification classes.
  • Prepares weekly reports, onsite inspection, facility inspection as needed, be on site daily, be visible to the contractor and GOAA.
  • Try to anticipate the unforeseen, use your knowledge to control a possible bad situation. The contractors are working in an operational airport.
  • Daily photos are used as a Photo documentary of the site with daily uploads to the GOAA "BOX". Please follow the naming nomenclature.
  • Attend weekly meetings.
  • When incidents occur, get to the location as soon as possible, make sure contractor follow the correct protocol/ document.
  • Performs related work as required or assigned.
  • Plan, monitor, review and work with the contractors to minimize disruption to GOAA's Operation.
  • Advises and practices and procedures, established guidelines, for completing job.

Who You Are

Minimal Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 9 years of construction related experience
  • 5 years of construction/buildings inspection experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and audiences that include but not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors and visitors
  • Ability to lead, learn and apply knowledge of applicable local / state and federal codes, statues and guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a time conscious and time-effective manner.
  • Perform physical inspection of variety of discipline activities which may include but not limited to concrete, buildings, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College Degree
  • Knowledge and experience in airport operations and construction is preferred.
  • Experience with APM's, airport construction, concrete, asphalt
  • Five years' experience working as an inspector, engineer, architect
  • Certification by recognized authority is preferred
  • Intermediate or expert computer and software skills to include use of Microsoft Office Suite and Windows.
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others to include team members
  • This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
