About the Role:
As an Estimator in the wholesale trade industry based in Knoxville, TN, you will play a critical role in accurately assessing project costs to support business profitability and client satisfaction. Your primary objective will be to analyze project specifications and materials requirements to develop detailed and competitive cost estimates. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an estimator or in a similar role within the wholesale trade or construction industry.
- Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Construction Management, Engineering, or Business.
- Experience with industry-specific estimation software such as Sage Estimating, PlanSwift, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with procurement processes and supplier negotiation.
- Knowledge of local market conditions and material pricing trends in the Knoxville, TN area.
- Certification from recognized bodies such as the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE).
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Consult with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather pricing and availability information.
- Develop detailed quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns for materials and overhead.
- Prepare and present comprehensive estimate reports to management and clients, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Continuously update and maintain cost databases and estimation tools to reflect current market conditions.
- Collaborate with sales and project teams to refine estimates and support bid submissions.
- Monitor project progress and update estimates as necessary to reflect changes in scope or conditions.
