What you will do:
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Drafter to support critical Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives within our OEM equipment manufacturing division. This position is responsible for enhancing product value by optimizing performance and reducing costs. The Equipment Drafter collaborates closely with engineers and design managers to ensure designs meet functional requirements, safety standards, and manufacturing capabilities while developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Provide drafting support to Design Engineering and Equipment Design departments ensuring alignment with engineering specifications and project requirements.
THIS POSITION IS FOCUSED ON A 2 YEAR PROJECT (SEPTEMBER 2027)
How you will do it
Utilize PTC Creo 9 to prepare detailed 3D models and drawings.
Draft and design mechanical parts, piping layouts, and sheet metal assemblies.
Read and interpret engineering specifications, creating both 2D and 3D engineering drawings.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize product designs.
Develop engineering changes and help resolve any design issues that arise during the development process.
Generate Bill of Materials for assigned projects.
Work on Engineering Change Order (ECR) assigned.
Required:
Associate degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Proficient knowledge of 3D design software, specifically PTC Creo 9.
Understand industry standards, codes, and practices.
Experience in sheet metal design
Experience in piping and plumbing design.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of Revit is a plus.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to data center equipment is a plus.
