Position Overview The Facilities Electrical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and infrastructure within the facility. This role involves supervising a team of electrical technicians, ensuring all electrical work complies with safety regulations and organizational standards, and supporting the organization's operational goals. The Facilities Electrical Supervisor will manage schedules, delegate tasks, provide training, and coordinate with other departments to address electrical needs efficiently. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Team Management: Supervise and lead a team of electrical technicians, providing guidance, training, and support. Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure quality workmanship. Conduct performance evaluations and address any issues related to team performance. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment among team members. Electrical Systems Maintenance: Oversee the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and infrastructure. Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to optimize system performance. Monitor the condition of electrical systems, ensuring they meet operational and safety standards. Coordinate prompt responses to urgent electrical issues to minimize downtime or disruptions. Safety and Compliance: Ensure all electrical work adheres to local, state, and federal regulations, including electrical codes and safety standards. Conduct regular inspections to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards. Promote and enforce safety protocols and procedures among team members. Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with other departments to assess electrical needs and plan projects or upgrades. Review blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications for electrical installations or repairs. Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized projects or repairs. Monitor inventory of electrical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for maintenance and repairs. Budget and Reporting: Manage the electrical maintenance budget, including cost estimation, tracking, and reporting. Prepare regular reports on team performance, completed projects, and system conditions for senior management. Identify opportunities to optimize energy usage and reduce costs through efficiency initiatives. Qualifications and Skills Education and Experience: Associate or B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (preferred). 5+ years of experience in electrical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience with electrical systems in commercial or industrial settings is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft applications and computerized maintenance systems. Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and electrical codes. Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting issues in electrical systems and equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics. Familiarity with electrical tools, testing equipment, and safety procedures.
