Clark Nexsen is currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer EIT in our Virginia Beach office. Youll have the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of programs and projects, including municipal, state, and federal/DOD projects. We currently have a need for project experience within our Infrastructure Market Sector, providing expertise and guidance on water resources, storm drainage and stormwater management design, flood studies, culvert design and HEC-RAS analysis, bridge hydraulics, hydrologic & hydraulic modeling. This motivated individual will provide technical analysis and design services on a multitude of design projects as part of Clark Nexsens dynamic Infrastructure Market Sector.

General Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following

  • Performing various aspects of stormwater design as directed by a Senior Water Resources Engineer including conceptual studies, design analyses, calculations, site design for buildings or subdivisions, design for infrastructure projects, and design related to a business development activity such as a response to a Request for Proposal (RFP).
  • Analyze and problem solve complex stormwater and flooding issues, while bringing reliable and cost-effective solutions to our clients
  • Perform water systems analysis and modeling, using various software programs.
  • Development of erosion and sediment control plans and strategies
  • Design stormwater management facilities to support municipal, state, and federal/Department of Defense projects
  • Be able to communicate effectively with team members and clients, with a focus on providing quality deliverables in a timely manner
  • Be able to assist with presentations to clients and the general public, communicating the benefits of a project and/or technical solution clearly and concisely
  • Assist in the preparation of construction documents, including plans and specifications
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and/or estimates for drainage projects.
  • Development of engineering reports and memorandums.
  • Working with contractors and clients during the construction phase of a project to resolve issues and to communicate project requirements
  • Perform technical work in various software applications, including but not limited to Microstation, GEOPACK Drainage, Civil 3D, PondPack, Flow Master, PCSWMM, StormCad, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and ARC-GIS.
