Description

Our client's regional operation in Texas is looking for a Staff Environmental Engineer to provide air permitting and compliance to the power, industrial, commercial, transportation and manufacturing industries. This position offers challenging work with significant project variety at a successful, industry-leading company and an opportunity for advancement in a growing Air & Noise practice.

The Staff Environmental Air Engineer will work within our Environmental Services Global Practice and perform the following duties:

  • This position will be responsible for preparing air permit applications for major projects, including Title V air permits.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal air quality requirements.
  • Technical understanding of his position will require knowledge of a wide variety of complex industrial operations; some experience in refining is a plus.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date with new and proposed air permitting requirements, emission estimating methods, and regulations.
  • Regularly meets and corresponds with clients, agency officials, or other outside personnel. Interested in international working partnerships.
  • Specific knowledge and ability to bring key clients preferred.
  • This position includes some marketing responsibilities and occasional travel.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related engineering degree from an accredited program plus minimum 3 years of applicable professional experience.
  • Completion of a master's degree in a related field may be substituted for 1 year of experience.
  • Previous consulting experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors, co-workers, and other professionals.
  • Proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver's license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
