Role Summary/Purpose:
Dresser Utility Solutions is seeking an entry level Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic Measurement team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of electrical systems and components for gas metering applications. You will work closely with a team of experienced engineers to ensure the quality and performance of our products meet industry standards and meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of electrical systems for gas meters, focusing on accuracy, reliability, and efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical components into overall product designs
- Conduct testing and validation of electrical systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer specifications
- Support troubleshooting efforts and provide technical assistance during product manufacturing and field deployments
- Document engineering processes, specifications, and test results for future reference and continuous improvement
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in electrical engineering to propose innovative solutions
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Solid understanding of electrical circuit design, components, and systems
- Proficiency in CAD software for schematic design and layout (e.g., Altium, OrCAD)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior internship or project experience related to electrical engineering is a plus
- Familiarity with gas metering or instrumentation systems
- Experience with PLC programming and control systems
- Experience writing firmware, preferably in C or C++, and Python
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards in the manufacturing industry

Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while working at a desk or lab bench
- Manual dexterity to operate tools, computers, test equipment, and small components
- Visual acuity to read schematics, diagrams, and detailed technical documents
- Ability to lift and carry equipment or components weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Occasional bending, reaching, or kneeling when working with physical prototypes or equipment
Environmental Conditions
- Work is typically performed in an office, lab, and light manufacturing/assembly area
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing floor conditions, which may include moderate noise, machinery, and tools
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in certain areas
