Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for office and manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 30 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats.
1. Qualifications:
1.1 Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Technology.
1.2 Minimum of three (3) years hands on maintenance experience in industrial control system development and troubleshooting.
1.3 Must have proven experience with the following PLCs and HMI’s: Allen Bradley and Siemens.
1.4Advance PLC skills with expertise in system administrative and maintenance activities, and hardware and software troubleshooting.
1.5 Read and create electrical schematics.
2. Responsibilities:
2.1 Work as part of a team to plan, analyze and control the quality of processes.
2.2 Supervises electrical maintenance personnel over the assigned section of the plant maintenance (Slitter &Mill or Finishing Depts).
2.3 Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner
2.4 Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
2.5 Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance technicians
2.6 Inspect, repair, and adjust Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), and related equipment using electrical test equipment, circuit diagrams, schematics and blueprints.
2.7 Assist with all computer integration of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and process controls.
2.8 Responsible for training of end users on the operations of newly installed or modified process or control systems.
2.9 Must be available to, on occasion, work outside their regular schedule, to assist in the implementation of process changes.
2.10 The employee is responsible for maintaining maintenance records, inspection reports, and processing Work Orders.
2.11 Ensure a clean and safe work area. Must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
2.12 Ensure the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) are followed.
2.13 Supports HSE-related programs that will increase awareness and promote a safety culture.
2.14 Ensure the continuous improvement methods and 5S are always in effect on the responsibility area.
3. Activities:
3.1 Electrical Maintenance Supervisor must work to arrange for repair and replacement of instruments and control systems that fail to operate. They must continuously monitor all operation processes so that a malfunction is immediately recognized and corrected.
3.2 Coordinates activities with Plant Operations Departments.
3.3 Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians.
3.4 Ensures that all maintenance technicians are trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures.
3.5 Assists with hiring of electrical maintenance personnel.
3.6 Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
3.7 Input of Work Orders through the CMMS of the Maintenance Department.
3.8 Prepare reports on equipment performance and efficiency.
3.9 Other duties as assigned.
4. Authority and Obligation:
4.1 This position has the authority to stop an operation if he / she deems it necessary, for reasons of imminent safety and/or possible equipment damage. However, he/she must notify the Operations Supervisor on duty and follow the established notification procedure if the interruption is for an extended time period.
