Kumi Construction Management Corporation is seeking a Construction Inspector who will provide on-site inspection services for facilities construction projects with a focus on all construction disciplines including mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), structural and site work systems. This role ensures contractor compliance with contract documents, construction drawings, codes, and safety regulations. The inspector will monitor construction progress, quality of workmanship, and adherence to specifications.
Qualifications:
B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on construction inspection experience related to facilities projects, including:
Proven ability to identify deficiencies in workmanship and materials across mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including MEP and civil drawings, specifications, and submittals.
Solid understanding of applicable building codes, industry standards, and best practices across all relevant trades.
Proficient in documenting field observations through written reports, checklists, photos, and inspection logs.
Familiarity with contractor scheduling, pay applications, and change order processes.
Strong communication and coordination skills to work with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
Knowledge of OSHA standards and site safety protocols.
Valid drivers license and ability to travel to active job sites.
Preferred Certifications:
Certifications such as ICC (International Code Council), NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies), or state/local inspection credentials.
Experience with municipal or public infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in using inspection software or mobile reporting tools (e.g., Procore, Fieldwire, BIM 360).
Experience with systems commissioning, energy-efficient design, or LEED projects.
