Carpenter/ Carpenter Foreman Full Time Position

The Position:
We are looking for a Carpenter/Carpenter Foreman for residential framing and forming, finishing and other carpentry tasks. The successful applicant will be joining a group of employees dedicated to their craft. This is a full time position with the possibility of future growth within the company. Our current job sites are located in West Vancouver and Vancouver.

Your Role & Responsibilities:
Working from drawings or instruction from the Site Superintendent, carpentry may tasks include:
Performing layout by measuring, marking and arranging materials.
Cutting and shaping primarily wood (but at times could be plastic, fiberglass or drywall) through the use of hand and power tools.
Checking the accuracy of work and making any necessary adjustments.
Will also be required to undertake related building tasks such as:
Building forms for concrete construction.
Framing walls and partitions.
Installing doors and windows.
Building stairs.
Back framing (light valances, ceiling coffers, arched details etc.).
Finishing framing (trim, crown molding, interior door installation etc.)
High end framing (working with complex structural steel, stair framing, hand framed roofs).
Architectural concrete formwork experience (scribing to rock, stairs, curved walls etc).
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Carpentry ticket or acceptable level of on-the-job training.
Previous construction experience working on commercial, residential or tenant improvements.
Knowledge of local building codes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Understanding of construction math. Roof and stair math is ideal.
Dedicated to quality and service, and works productively with others.
Ability to lead carpenters and labourers.
Experience in material take offs and concrete volume calculations.
OFA training an asset.
A passion for teaching others. It would also be an asset for you to be eager to learn as well. We understand that in this industry, no one knows everything and you will not be required to know everything. You will be required to know when to ask the appropriate questions to get the job done on time and to the high quality levels we are known to build to.
Must have valid drivers license and reliable vehicle.
