Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on delivering high-quality engineering solutions for water, wastewater, and industrial process facilities such as cement and pulp and paper plants. The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of hands-on experience in power distribution, instrumentation, and control system design, including medium-voltage systems (up to 15kV). Proficiency in P&ID interpretation and development of electrical schematics and loop wiring diagrams is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop power distribution systems including low- and medium-voltage systems (up to 15kV).
- Develop and review instrumentation and control systems for industrial processes and utility systems.
- Create and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Generate one-line diagrams, schematics, control panel layouts, and loop diagrams for system control and automation.
- Perform load calculations, cable sizing, and short-circuit / coordination studies using relevant software tools.
- Specify electrical equipment including switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs, and instrumentation devices.
- Support construction, commissioning, and start-up activities, including site visits when required.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, civil, and process engineers.
- Ensure all designs and documents comply with industry codes (NEC, IEEE) and client specifications.
- Participate in project planning, cost estimation, and client presentations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience in water/wastewater treatment or industrial sectors (cement, pulp & paper).
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Proven experience with up to 15kV power system design and power distribution network design.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control systems.
- Proficient in developing and interpreting P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control schematics.
- Familiarity with industry tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, Revit, or similar software.
- Solid understanding of NEC and IEEE standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Experience with SCADA and PLC/DCS systems integration.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E, Arc Flash Studies, and Hazardous Area Classification.
