Summary: As a Ride Mechanic, you will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance for all designated rides and/or attractions at Silver Dollar City. Our guests travel from all around the country to experience our internationally awarded 1880s-style theme park with over 40 thrilling rides and attractions. Our hardworking team of mechanics work behind the scenes to make sure the rides stay up and running safely while the park is open .

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the inspection and preventive/corrective maintenance of individual or groups of rides and/or other attractions.
- Assist in weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual maintenance requirements per the Ride Manufacturer’s instructions and SDC’s internal procedures.
- Respond to downtime, repair and ride recovery issues immediately upon notification.
- Troubleshooting and repair of assigned mechanical, electrical and special effects on rides and/or attractions.
- Utilize manuals, technical drawings and other forms of documentation to perform the tasks above.
- Document all work performed on a ride/attraction into the company’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including but not limited to: inspections, corrective actions, log book entries and any other applicable information required by the Silver Dollar City Log Book Procedure.
- Effectively communicate with others on your team, other maintenance teams and all other divisional employees and leadership.
- Ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively with other maintenance teams and all other divisional employees and leadership.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and a background check.
- Must be able to work days, evenings, weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to tolerate a year-round outdoor environment; cold and hot temperatures.
- Ability to withstand heights, climbs stairs, walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds (assisted).
- Must be able to read, write, comprehend instructions and communicate in English.
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Missouri Class E Driver's License or resident state equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Education and Experience:
- 1 – 3 years of previous maintenance experience and/or experience in a Theme Park Industry setting preferred.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic understanding of general maintenance equipment.
- Proof of current certification(s) in any related field or equipment preferred.
- Proof of OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour course completion preferred.

- The ability to safely climb ladders, hills and stairs.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a physically demanding, outdoor environment with exposure to all weather conditions year-round. Ride Mechanics must work at varying heights and in tight spaces, often navigating stairs, ladders, and uneven terrain while wearing required personal protective equipment. The role involves lifting equipment, standing or walking for extended periods, and responding quickly to ride maintenance needs across the park. A strong focus on safety, clear communication, and teamwork is essential, as mechanics often collaborate across departments to ensure the reliable and safe operation of rides and attractions.
