Electrical Engineer

Our Electrical Engineers support the development and launch of electronic modules for OE and Aftermarket applications by providing detailed review of electrical and software requirements. They assist with electronic circuit design, preparing DV and PV test plans, testing, coordinating outside testing, preparing technical specifications, and assisting with technical customer interface (if necessary).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute DV / PV test plans, coordinate workflow with outside test labs, ensure compliance to requirements and write reports.
  • Assist the software and electrical engineering teams along with technicians and manufacturing engineers with documentation of compliance to defined processes, throughout the development cycle.
  • Design and release electronic modules to meet the requirements of new applications and customer needs
  • Develop & create hardware design documentation, specifications, BOMs, and WCCA documents.
  • Perform and/or assist technicians in circuit simulation and generate lab data to support the design approval process.
  • Follow the defined Product Development Process to ensure project deliverables are on time and on budget.
  • Evaluate design changes, specifications, and drawing releases
  • Direct and coordinate building of prototype parts with either internal plants or external vendors
  • Support warranty return and plant reject analysis to determine root cause and drive product improvements.
  • Assists other engineers with project tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical / computer engineering.
  • Must have combined 3 years (graduate degree education and/or relevant work experience) including 1 year in one of the following:
    • Relevant experience in design and development of automotive electronic modules
    • Working knowledge of design tools and simulation tools.
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Self-motivated individual with a passion to succeed, a positive attitude and the ability to communicate and work well with others in a team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exposure to embedded software - coding, testing, debugging, documenting.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and communicating with manufacturing plants
  • Experience in automotive requirements definition, specifications, testing, validation, and quality.
  • Working knowledge of PCB layout and schematic capture tools (Altium, Mentor graphics, etc.)
  • Any specific automotive experience, particularly with braking, lighting, or towing systems
  • Creating test cases for Design Validation Plans
  • Experience or knowledge of designing board level circuit designs, leading worst-case circuit analysis (WCCA) and using hardware simulation analysis techniques.
