The Foreman acts as DIRTT's lead representative on modular construction sites, responsible for managing daily on-site installation activities. This role ensures that projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with quality standards. The Foreman provides hands-on leadership, coordination, and technical guidance to installation technicians and subcontractors, while serving as the key liaison between the field crew, internal project teams, and external Construction Managers and General Contractors.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise and coordinate install technicians on job sites, ensuring efficient execution of daily tasks.
  • Interpret DIRTT shop drawings, project plans and specifications, and DIRTT product information to direct the installation of products or systems according to project plans and specifications.
  • Oversee and enforce DIRTT safety procedures and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor site conditions and resolve issues related to scheduling, materials, labor, and equipment needs.
  • Attend and manage on behalf of DIRTT all preconstruction meetings, both in-person and/or remote, as it pertains to coordination of DIRTT product or scope install.
  • Conduct quality checks throughout the installation process to ensure adherence to specifications and craftsmanship expectations.
  • Communicate project progress and issues to the Installation Manager and General Superintendent to collaborate on solutions.
  • Mentor, train, and support install technicians, helping to develop skills and maintain high team morale.
  • Maintain daily reports including hours worked, materials used, and work completed.
  • Ensure job site cleanliness and organization, maintaining a professional and safe work environment.
  • Coordinate deliveries and inventory of tools, parts, and materials required for installation.
  • Assist in hands-on installation tasks as needed, especially in complex or time-sensitive situations.
  • Coordinate with General Contractors and other construction trades on site.
  • Interact with clients during installations, addressing any concerns or questions and providing excellent customer service.
  • Provide support to the Field Operations Specialists during periods of downtime, or when addressing large-scale material issues or time-sensitive projects that require additional resources to ensure successful installation.

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of five years' experience working in modular construction, commercial interiors, or a related field.
  • Certifications related to workplace safety (e.g., OSHA, First Aid/CPR) would be considered an asset.
  • Proven experience as a Foreman, Lead Installer, or Senior Install Technician.
  • Technical background in modular construction systems, with hands-on experience in installation and configuration would be a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, networking, and hardware components.
  • Strong knowledge of installation procedures, tools, materials, and safety standards relevant to the industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to motivate and direct a team effectively in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
  • Proficient in using mobile field software or digital reporting tools (Procore, ACC, Bluebeam, Smartsheet)
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.
  • Ability to travel up to 95% of the time to project sites across North America.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends to meet project deadlines.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, work in varying weather conditions, and operate heavy tools and equipment.
