This position will be responsible for assisting higher graded Technicians and Project Officers, with duties such as:

  • Maintaining daily construction logs.
  • Preparing weekly progress reports.
  • Ensuring necessary safety precautions are enforced and a safe working environment is maintained.
  • Assisting higher-graded technicians with construction inspection and field work activities.
  • Entering data of project progress utilizing various computer programs.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:

GS-4 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-03 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Experience with work directly related to construction.

OR,

2 years of study that included at least 12 semester hours in any combination of courses such as drafting, surveying, mathematics, physical science, industrial technology, industrial arts, or technical subjects pertinent to construction; or engineering technician work such as electricity, material testing, or engineering mechanics.

OR,

A combination of graduate education and specialized experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements.

GS-5 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Experience with work directly related to construction and experience interpreting plans and specifications.

OR,

A full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology; or (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as as such as drafting, surveying, mathematics, physical science, industrial technology, industrial arts or technical subjects pertinent to construction or engineering technician work such as electricity material testing or engineering mechanics.

OR,

A combination of graduate education and specialized experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements.

GS-6 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Experience with work directly related to construction and experience interpreting plans and specifications and experience inspecting materials and workmanship.
