Project Manager - Transmission Line

We're looking for a Project Manager who can lead multiple overhead and underground transmission line projects from start to finish. In this role, you'll be the go-to person making sure projects stay on schedule, on budget, and up to quality standards, all while building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other key partners. You'll also play a part in helping grow business by supporting marketing efforts with new and existing clients. This role can be based in Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC.
What you'll be doing:
- Pull together proposals, help with presentations, and jump into contract negotiations when needed.
- Be the main point of contact for clientsmanaging coordination, project planning, scope, and budgets.
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle: siting, permitting, environmental work, engineering, procurement, construction support, and final closeout.
- Keep project schedules and budgets on track while managing scope changes.
- Handle internal project finances, forecasts, staffing, and risk management tasks.
- Keep everyone in the loopclients, teams, and stakeholderswith clear communication at every stage.
- Set up and enforce project policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Regularly report progress, budget updates, safety or environmental concerns, and any roadblocks that pop up.
For Design-only projects (traditional design-bid-build), you'll also:
- Lead the full engineering design effort.
- Build and manage detailed man-hour budgets.
- Oversee quality checks for all engineering deliverables.
- Direct field engineering activities.
- Manage schedules, budgets, progress tracking, and subcontractor packages.
- Prepare and submit client change orders and monthly status reports.
- Plan turnover and start-up activities.
- Run project meetings and make sure everything stays on track.
- Enforce company and site safety standards.
And of course, other duties as assignedbecause things always come up!
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience with utility transmission line projects, including 3+ years in a project management role.
- PE license and/or PMP certification? That's a plus.
- Comfortable working with a mix of industry, government, and public contacts.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Great problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Able to travel as needed.
- Valid driver's license (and the ability to meet company driving policy standards).
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
