Electrical Engineer Defense Systems
Minneapolis, MN | Long-Term Contract | pay:$50$59/hr (W2)
We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and deployment of advanced military systems. In this long-term contract role, you'll contribute to projects involving combat vehicles, guided munitions, and next-generation weapon systems. This position plays a key role in electrical system design, integration, and verification, working closely with cross-functional teams under the direction of project engineering leads.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze analog/digital circuits and electrical systems for defense-related applications.
- Develop schematics, interface control documents, simulations, and test procedures.
- Support integration of electrical subsystems into complex platforms.
- Evaluate vendor solutions, components, and technologies for compliance with military specs.
- Create and maintain technical documentation (e.g., drawings, reports, system analyses).
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering (2+ with M.S.).
- Proficient in schematic creation, reading, and circuit simulation (PSpice, LTspice).
- Hands-on experience with analog and digital circuit design.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with military/commercial design standards and EMI considerations.
- Working knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, OrCAD, and Visio.
- Experience with FPGA integration, control logic, and wiring harness design.
- Knowledge of power systems, battery management, and ammunition handling systems.
- Exposure to programming languages such as C, C#, or LabWindows/CVI.
Education
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field (M.S. preferred)
