General Laborer

Aerotek's client is looking for General Laborers to join their team in the Lorton, VA area

This position is responsible for securing vehicles within carriers to be transported.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the placement and removal of chockers on each car wheel.
• Precisely position automobiles within the carriers.
• Chock and strap the vehicles in the carrier.
• Remove chocks and straps at the arrival terminal.
• Wear and use required protective equipment while working.
• Take responsibility for personal safety while on the job.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 80 pounds.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with arms.
• Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.

Work Environment

• Work shifts are from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, 5-6 days a week, including weekends with 1-2 days off during the week.
• You must be willing to work in all weather conditions and at various hours to accommodate the arrival and departure of trains.
• The job requires the ability to work alone and unsupervised, with exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and occasionally fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
