Project Manager - Nuclear Projects

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead and execute nuclear refurbishment and tooling projects. This role involves managing a portfolio of 2-5 projects, each valued between 1-10 million dollars. The successful candidate will be pivotal in delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project team to execute projects on schedule, ensuring they meet budget and contracted scope requirements.
  • Act as the key customer contact for assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction through regular verbal and written communication.
  • Assess and identify project risks, implementing effective risk mitigation plans.
  • Oversee project schedule development, manage resources, and conduct initial project build plan meetings.
  • Collaborate with the financial analyst to ensure timely billing and invoicing, and prepare necessary documentation for project milestone payments.
  • Prepare accurate financial and resource forecasts, submitting reports as required.
  • Conduct regular team communications meetings and encourage team morale and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, conducting hazard assessments and audits.
  • Provide training, information, and supervision to employees in accordance with safety standards.
  • Coordinate post-project employee assessments and manage projects in accordance with established procedures.
Essential Skills
  • Project management experience, ideally 5+ years in construction, change order, design, and commercial construction.
  • Engineering background with a focus on nuclear projects.
  • Experience managing projects valued at 1-10 million dollars.
  • Ability to establish project plans, finances, and schedules.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage project teams and client stakeholders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with nuclear projects is highly advantageous.
  • Automation or tooling project experience is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of CSA B51 and CSA N285.0 pressure boundary components.
Work Environment

The role requires working in the office five days a week, with flexibility to work from home 1-2 days during certain phases of the project. Minimal travel to the site is required. Generally, the workweek is 40-45 hours, and the team size includes approximately eight key contacts throughout your projects. The work environment is innovative and exciting, offering opportunities for growth and extension beyond the initial one-year contract.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $85.00/hr.
