Under the direction of the Roads and Grounds Working Supervisor, the incumbent performs heavy physical activity during snow removal and skilled tasks related to the year round clean-up and maintenance of Tribal-owned roadways, grounds, equipment, and facilities requiring general labor work. May be transferred into any division within the Public Works Department as needed or assigned. Completion of High School or GED is a plus and some experience in performing manual work required. Must be able to safely operate equipment and tools such as mowers, chain saws, snow blowers, wood chippers, etc. Must be able to safely operate pickup trucks to plow snow and haul materials to and from work sites. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license; must provide a yearly DMV Certified Driving History. From November 1 st through April 30 th , there is mandatory snow removal duty, whereupon when called, the incumbent must be report to work, regardless of approved time off. Additionally, the remainder of the year requires 24 hour on-call work status; however you are exempt from work duty if on pre-approved leave during this time.
