Overview

The Field Civil Engineers primary duty is to execute and engineer the Civil Engineering aspects of various construction projects, from site identification to finish. Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of studies, designs, and layouts, alongside in-depth project reviews for deliverable scheduling and cost estimation.

NOTE: This position is located in our SH 288 Angleton, Texas office. When not traveling - this is an in-office only opportunity Monday - Friday.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides leadership in initial planning stage by collaborating with clients, architects. local and state governments, or other involved parties; develops detailed description of work necessary to complete project.

  • Schedules and coordinates projects in logical steps and budget the time necessary to meet each deadline.

  • Leads and participates in the design and planning of assigned structures, facilities, and systems.

  • Inspects completed work for adherence to standards and designs

  • Ensures safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction.

  • Oversees contract negotiations, revisions, and additions and adherence by all parties.

  • Collaborates with clients, supervisory staff, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve problems, including work procedures, complaints, and construction or design issues.

  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with a variety of people, including owners, managers, designers, supervisors, local authorities and subcontract engineers.

  • It is an essential function of this job for the employee to work in office/in the employees assigned work site. No remote work is available

  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned

  • Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

The position requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required

  • Licensed P.E. or EIT (Civil) required

  • Must be available to travel 60 - 80% including statewide and overnight

  • 2+ years of Civil Engineering experience preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills a must
