General Summary of Position

The Traveling Superintendent is expectedto direct, supervise and troubleshoot issues that arise on the job site. The Superintendentserves as the go-between the employees (or 3 rd party installer) onthe job site and the staff assigned to manage each project. The Superintendent is expected to serve asthe main point of contact for job-site operations and notify management ifanything occurs that was not planned for out of the normal. They are also responsible for coordinating onsite activities with the client and other trades.

Primary Duties (Oversight of 3 rd party installers)

Management ofJob Site

Act as primary site contact with client. Build and maintain a good rapport with GCand/or Customer.

Oversee and ensure 3 rd partyinstaller is meeting schedule, sequence, quality.

Ensure that work is completed in the correctsequence unless approved by the Project Manager.

Maintain awareness of pending items(unapproved change orders/quoted work).

Ensure workers performing tasks are notexposed to danger from other trades.

Participate in coordination meetings to achieveproject goals within our contractual commitments. This includes coordination with GC and othertrades.

Coordinate with Project Manager forscheduling of trailer deliveries

Maintain working knowledge of contract/change orders/jobspecifications/submittals on each job site assigned . Ensure we are working within both.

Coordinate with PM if additional work isrequired. Approval from client andalignment with 3 rd party installer is required before proceeding.

Ensure all materials are stacked, orderly,and staged properly and the correct equipment needed is on site.

Work with 3 rd party installer oncorrective actions and/ or ways to improve performance. Include supervisor when guidance isneeded.

Develop crane and rigging plans withthe PM or evaluate installers plan.

Oversee andadjust crane scheduling, logistics, placement and rigging for safety andefficiency.

Documentation

Ensure that current drawing set on site and in good condition.

Ensure that all changes/sketches/RFIs etc. are easily accessed and areinserted in drawings.

Keep a running list of open items available on the site and reported tothe PM.

Maintain current project schedule andidentify shortfalls.

Record all ticket work in a timely fashion.

Two-week look ahead completed correctly and submitted every Friday.

Safety

Reports and documents injury and/or incident reports correctly andaccurately.

Performs follow up meeting/report after any safety incident.

Ensure crew members are wearing the proper PPE at all times.

Ensure proper safety measures are in place for the work being performed

Maintain working knowledge of Klovers Safety policy.

Understanding and implementation of OSHA standards.

Corrects subcontract installer or employees not following safetypolicies.

Identifies safety hazards and implements measures to correct them.

Performs inspections daily on safety equipment - has crew do same.

Secondary Duties (Oversight of self-perform installs)

Management ofField Carpenters

Check all deliveries for accuracy and ensurepick tickets are sent to PM dept.

Ensure that trash receptacles are in theproper place and are emptied daily.

Ensure the proper storage and organization offasteners and job tools.

Ensure that equipment not being used iscalled off/removed from site.

Ensure workers are adhering to start/stoptimes.

Assists in managing the job budget andaddresses areas of where attention is needed.

Effectively manages available manpower tomaximize productivity.

Orders materials for job sites using a LEANmentality.

Limits waste and unnecessary costs to thecompany.

Ensure that proper manpower is assignedaccordingly to meet production goals.

Ensure that all appropriate signs/cautiontape are in place.

Coordinates work with other trades working onthe project.

Creates and implements plan to work ininclement weather conditions where applicable.

Work with crew members putting work in placewhen supervision is not needed.

Print table is stocked with proper forms andorganized.

Complete and place material orders 3-4 daysprior to need.

Scheduling of manpower at 2 PM daily toensure proper coverage.

Develop crane and rigging plans with the PM or evaluateinstallers plan.

Oversee and adjust crane scheduling, logistics, placementand rigging for safety and efficiency.

Documentation

Maintaining the daily log of manpower/schedule impacts/wokperformed/constraints.

Ensures the site leader checklist is completed and followed daily.

Completion of Daily Field Reports and submitted to PM department by 9 AMthe next day.

Completion of subcontractor labor sheets and submitted daily.

Accurate completion of material order forms.

Training

Ensure that site leader has proper training.

Ensure workers follow the 10 commandments.

Coaches and trains new field carpenters the Klover way.

Effectively tasks/mentors assigned apprentice.

Tool andEquipment Management

Utilizes the red tool tagging policy.

Maintain working knowledge of tools and perform quick repairs.

Ensures that self and other field members treat company issuedtools/equipment properly.

Operation of any tools/equipment on site.

Tests lasers for accuracy.

Qualifications

Preferred Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED

Knowledge andunderstanding of construction safety devices and PPE.

Participation in asecondary or post-secondary trade curriculum or apprenticeship

10+ yearsexperience field carpentry experience

5+ years fieldsupervisory experience

Rigging andSignaling certifications

Proficiencyreading blueprints and drawin gs

Work Environment

At times, multiple soundscan be heard as employee is working on job, employee must have the ability tofocus on the sound in particular that is associated with the task they arecompleting. Employees with any sort ofhearing impairment would not be considered fit for duty to perform thisposition.

Due to the safety sensitivenature of the position, at all times, employee must be fit for duty and notreport to work under the influence of a mind altering or performance alteringsubstance.
