The Opportunity
Were looking for an Assistant Estimator whos ready to grow with us. This is your chance to help shape meaningful projects, build relationships, and gain experience in a team that values mentorship, precision, and long-term career development.
What Youll Do
As an Assistant Estimator, youll support the Chief Estimator in preparing competitive, accurate bids and helping drive successful project outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
Reviewing plans and specifications to understand project scope
Assisting with construction schedule development
Performing quantity take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment
Researching material and equipment pricing to ensure up-to-date cost estimates
Assisting in the preparation of project-specific general conditions and requirements
Developing scopes of work and supporting subcontractor selection
Participating in bid reviews and final submissions
Organizing bid documentation, invitations, and tracking submissions
Maintaining well-organized bid files
What Were Looking For
High school diploma required, Vo-tech degree preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience in construction cost estimating or equivalent; training provided
Familiarity with productivity rates, self-performed work, and construction methods
Knowledge of bid preparation, take-off procedures, and procurement
Understanding of various contract delivery methods (JOC, Design-Build, CMAR, etc.)
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized with the ability to multitask
Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain industry relationships
Ability to take direction and contribute to team success
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
Basic understanding of estimating software and bid management tools (training provided)
