Equipment Mechanic Supervisor

Are you ready to lead a high-impact team that keeps the County moving? We're looking for a skilled and motivated Equipment Mechanic Supervisor to take charge of our County Shop operations! In this pivotal role, you'll oversee the maintenance and repair of a wide range of light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment-including construction and emergency response units-ensuring our fleet is always in top condition.

You'll direct and support a team of mechanics, manage scheduling and workflow, and provide hands-on technical expertise when it's needed most. From tracking repairs and costs to planning new vehicle purchases and shop improvements, your work will help shape the efficiency and safety of every department that relies on our fleet. Hours:

Four 10-hour shifts April - October (6:00am-4:30pm Monday - Thursday)

Five 8-hour shifts October - April (7:30am-4:00pm Monday - Friday)

This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to mandatory drug testing as a condition of employment.

Qualifications: Graduation from a senior high school plus considerable experience in light, medium and heavy automotive and construction equipment maintenance and repair and experience supervising skilled automotive and diesel mechanic personnel; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.

Necessary Special Requirements:

Possession of a valid driver's license when operating a vehicle is required in the performance of assigned duties.

When operating equipment that falls under the Nebraska Commercial Driver's License (CDL) status, the employee is required to possess and maintain the proper license and endorsement.
