Position Summary
This is a hands-on, full-time position. The Sheet Metal Project Manager can run jobs big and small, coordinating multiple jobs simultaneously, while also providing leadership to large project teams and to the sheet metal department. The Sheet Metal Project Manager works with customers to develop the project scope of work, budgeting and estimating costs, and oversees preparation of documents and Sheet Metal project plans. The Sheet Metal Project Manager assists in procurement of equipment and materials and is responsible for reviewing, reporting, and projecting all project costs. The Sheet Metal Project Manager manages project roles, identifying and coordinating resource requirements. The most important aspect of the job is to provide customer satisfaction. The Sheet Metal Project Manager ensures effective communications and assures relationships between customers and project team members are maintained.
Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities
Pre-Construction
Complete contract review and acceptance. Review with Roofer if Sheet Metal is not lead.
Set-up complete JobTurn in Bid Summary
Acquire proper Permits
All Billing Requirements to Accounting
All Prevailing Wage (6 Weeks Prior)
Tax Exempt Certificate or Permit (Before Materials are ordered)
All Bonding Information (if applicable)
Submit Warranty Paperwork if needed
Submit Schedule of Values
Submit Job Hazard Analysis (or the like, if required)
Complete Approved Submittals including Shop Drawings & Data Sheets
Verify all Permits are pulled (if necessary)
Order all material necessary to complete project
Construction
Inform Superintendent of approximate start date
Schedule and Manage Pre-Job Meeting, prior to job start. (Attend Roofers Pre-Job meeting if necessary)
Visit Job site as often as necessary
Monitor production and labor costs
Monitor Quality of Project: Discuss problems with Superintendent
Process all RFI, Change Orders, Billings and Correspondence
Forward any Punch-List items to Superintendent
Continually communicate with Metal Superintendent and Shop Manager on Project progress
Project Closeout
Ensure any Punch-List items are completed
Complete owner & manufacturer warranty inspections, if necessary
Closeout Permits, if necessary
Deliver warranties
Collect final billing
Close-Out project in Timely fashion
Assist with other duties as assigned
Meetings Required to Attend
Foreman's Monthly Meetings
Schedule/Ops and Sales Meetings
Weekly (2) Sheet Metal Review Meetings
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science and Management or equivalent preferred.
Experience
5+ years' experience as Sheet Metal Project Manager in Roofing or similar industry required.
Knowledge of DataForma preferred.
Specialized Skills
Proven track record of building high-performance teams.
Technical training and team development programs that are effective.
Advance use of technologies for project management, job cost, and scheduling.
Ability to negotiate without being adversarial.
Strong proactive communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively are critical.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft and Excel applications.

Supervisory Expectations:
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

The work environment is a typical roofing environment. 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Hours vary and are dependent on business needs.
40 Hour Work Week
Monday through Friday, hours may vary with the workload.
