Lex Products is a leading manufacturer of portable power distribution and control solutions for demanding markets, including entertainment, industrial, and military applications. We pride ourselves on high-quality, innovative products designed and built in the USA. We are seeking a CAD Designer to join our Engineering Department to support new product development and sustaining engineering projects. This role will focus on creating and revising detailed models and drawings of electrical and mechanical assemblies, supporting product development efforts from concept through production while ensuring design documentation meets quality and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for mechanical and electrical assemblies, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.
  • Collaborate with engineers to translate concepts, sketches, and redlines into clear, manufacturable drawings.
  • Revise and update drawings based on engineering changes, ensuring drawing accuracy and compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Organize and maintain CAD files and drawing documentation within Lex's data management systems.
  • Assist in the creation of bills of materials (BOMs) and other supporting documentation for production and purchasing.
  • Participate in product design reviews, providing input to enhance manufacturability, serviceability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support prototype assembly by providing detailed drawings and occasionally assisting in measurements or fit checks.
  • Ensure designs adhere to applicable standards, including UL and NEC where required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Engineering Department to enhance workflow and design quality.
