Parks and Recreation/Cass Scenic Railroad This employee supports a comprehensive operations and maintenance program for all buildings and grounds within the Cass Scenic Railroad State Park. The employee, as tasked by the Building Maintenance Supervisor, the Assistant Superintendent/Superintendent, or their designee, is expected to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work. The successful employee completes maintenance tasks on all buildings and structures located within the park including historic wood frame structures and stonework. This work will include, but not be limited to, rough and fine carpentry, including the care and maintenance of hardwood flooring; plumbing, including the emplacement of external supply lines and interior lines and fixtures; assist with the installation and repair of various electrical fixtures, supply lines, etc.; emplace/remove concrete and masonry support structures; repair or replace various kitchen appliances (dishwashers, ranges, refrigerator/freezers, microwaves, etc.; assist with the maintenance and installation of various fire alarm and suppression systems; provide field-level support to IT/telecommunications equipment/services providers; provide field-level sustainment maintenance to various HVAC units/systems; maintain/repair various small engine equipment like chainsaws, weed trimmers, lawn mowers, power washers, and generators; operate/maintain motor vehicles and construction support equipment (trucks, skid steer tractors, UTV's, backhoe loader, etc.); utilize various powered and non-powered hand tools; painting using various methods (rollers, brushes, sprayers); repair/clean windows; support housekeeping and janitorial work - including trash pickup, as needed, across the park; conduct snow removal operations; conduct landscaping and grounds keeping efforts; load, unload, and assist with inventorying furniture, fixtures, and equipment; support efforts to promote a safe workplace and accountability of supplies, tools, etc. The successful employee works with park guests to immediately resolve their maintenance requests in a manner reflecting a positive image for Cass Scenic Railroad State Park. Employees will perform hands-on work as assigned, including in support of other local park units, and serve as a lead worker for new and seasonal staff. As a lead worker, employees are expected to train staff in the proper use and care of all applicable equipment to do their assigned job; train staff to meet expectations and follow proper procedures of completing work assignments; inspect, on a daily basis, their crew's equipment and ensure it has been returned to shop in a clean and operational manner; works with supervisors to requisition needed tools and project materials; completes and submits incident reports for all damages to equipment or facilities, and injuries to maintenance personnel, as needed. The successful employee is expected to assist in the operation and maintenance of the park's water and wastewater sewage treatment system; this includes assisting in maintaining all associated lines, lift stations, etc. The employee may be required to obtain appropriate sewage and water treatment plant operator licenses. Licenses and any further advanced or additional permitting licenses and/or requirements necessary to operate the sewage and water treatment systems at the park will be obtained and maintained throughout employment. Employee must be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in WV. Employees will perform all related work as required or assigned. Employees are required to wear state-provided uniforms. Regular attendance is a requirement of this position.

Minimum Qualifications
Training: No formal education required.
Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in building maintenance or as a helper in a building trade.
Special Requirement:Specific positions may require certification from a federal EPA approved testing organization as a certified technician required by the Clean Air Act on refrigerant recycling.
