Performs all duties and activities in a manner that conforms to site specific safety requirements, company policy, state and federal regulations.
Performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
Replaces parts on a scheduled basis.
Troubleshoots, diagnoses heavy equipment malfunctions and replaces, repairs or rebuilds.
Dismantles and reassembles mobile and stationary equipment using hoists, handtools, and power tools.
Uses blueprints and follows manuals and parts lists in setting up and performing repairs and any rebuilds.
Operate equipment to diagnose problems.
Perform other duties as required.
Background in repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.
Ability to use prints and manuals.
Understanding of hydraulics.
Electrical systems.
Understanding of mechanical gear and drive systems.
Diagnostic skills.
Properties of various fuels and oils.
Proper lifting / handling materials.
Lock and tag-out procedures.
Know the Safe Job Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, company safety policies, and applicable rules and regulations.
