Position Overview: Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for (1) full-time Mechanical Technician II - Field Welding & Mechanical . The Mechanical Technician II will provide general labor to a wide range of construction trades through various construction, mechanical and industrial projects. This is a skilled position that requires mechanical knowledge and ability, along with a general knowledge of construction trades. Projects may include, but not be limited to the following industries and facilities: Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Factories, Production Plants, Coal, Wind Energy, Solar, etc. This individual will have a strong understanding of all aspects of industrial construction and must be proficient with the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation. This position will require a flexible schedule with extensive travel and out-of-town work and the willingness to work extended hours to include weekends, holidays, evenings, and possible night shift. What You'll Do: Provide general labor for various construction, industrial, and mechanical projects Perform concrete work, rebar, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, rigging, excavation, ditching, trenching, and general labor as required Perform structural steel installation Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively Operate basic machinery such as a man-lift, scissor lift, fork-lift, etc. Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, plumb bobs, etc. Perform and lead laser alignments on machines and equipment Assemble machinery and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structures Set up rigging to hoist equipment Select cables, ropes, chains, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved Attach loads with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains to crane hook Use hand signals to direct workers who are engaged in hoisting machinery and equipment Read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements Lead and mentor other Mechanical Technicians Other Duties This job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required for this position.
